Suzume's Father

Suzume's father was a bird who lived in the forest. He was a kind and gentle bird, and he loved his daughter very much. He would often sing to her and tell her stories. One day, a hunter came to the forest and shot Suzume's father. Suzume was very sad, and she cried for a long time. But then she remembered something her father had told her. He had said that when a bird dies, its spirit goes to live in the stars. So Suzume looked up at the sky and saw a beautiful bird flying among the stars. She knew that it was her father, and she smiled.
